Ruby Code Golf
Extreme use of the Ruby programming language
Task
Code Golf is a programming competition where the goal is to create the smallest possible program that solves some specific problem. The site codegolf.com host an unofficial 'world code golf tournament'.
I competed in the Ruby version of the '99 bottles of beer' challenge, which is a code golf classic, and has been running for more than 3 years. Almost 100 entries are uploaded each week.
I managed to create the 7th best solution ever. Four months later (februry 2010) nobody has matched my solution.
Responsibilities
- Creative algorithm development
- Ruby programming and testing
- Squeezing every possible bit out of the code!
